HETHER (real name Paul Castelluzzo) is a totally unique genre-less artist, producer, engineer, and renowned multi-instrumentalist signed to R&R Digital and based in Southern California. Hether was recently offered an opening slot on a Remi Wolf tour.

A self-taught guitar virtuoso, Paul got his humble start playing with local jazz legends like Curtis Taylor in San Diego bars and transcribing solos and harmonies from music icons as varied as Coltrane’s ‘Africa Brass’, Lou Reed’s ‘Transformer’, Joe Pass’ ‘For Django’, and Jimi Hendrix.

At 19, Paul found thousands of followers online for his guitar playing, notably Dwele, Romeo Santos and Rodney Jerkins. Paul moved to LA to work with Rodney Jerkins as a studio guitarist, performing on recordings for Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, and many others.

To make ends meet Paul was the head music director for a Russian Pentecostal church in the San Fernando Valley and drove Lyft. Romeo Santos contracted Paul to work on his album ‘Golden’, where you can hear Paul’s jazz guitar virtuosity on songs like “Tuyo” and “Heroe Favorito”. Paul had to leave Santos and refocus his attention on family life after his sister passed away from a drug overdose. After a six month break from music, Paul moved back to Los Angeles and the artist Hether was born.

As a producer / writer, Paul has several cuts each on the upcoming Clairo and Dominic Fike records and has been involved musically withAnderson .Paak, Rick Ross, Choker, Eyedress, Vince Staples, Bakar, Teezo Touchdown, Tom Misch, Paul McCartney, Remi Wolf, Bas, Benny Sings, Nick Hakim, Lianne La Havas, Justin Bieber, Orion Sun, Kali Uchis, Mac Miller, Sofia Valdes, the Marias and many others.

Paul has been spending lots lately with Kenny Beats, DJ Dahi, Michael Uzowuru, Benny Blanco, and Leon Michels.

Paul splits his time between Los Angeles and San Diego has a world class studio with a one of a kind Telefunken mixer from 70s and full production suite for tracking drums, mixing, mastering, analog and digital capabilities.

Hether’s songs have been featured on a long list of TV shows like HBO’s ‘Love Life’ (2022) ‘Don’t Make Me Go’ (2022) ‘Save Yourselves!’ (2020) and many more. He is currently scoring a film for Amazon Studios and will be releasing his next Hether record at the end of 2023.
