Songwriter, poet, & guitarist Joe DeVito, hailing from the Bronx/Yonkers, is an emerging artist with a deep appreciation for storytelling through music. While studying philosophy, he honed his craft, penning countless songs that blend elements of folk and Americana. With influences ranging from the literary side of his family, the grit of Woody Guthrie, and the innovation of Yung Lean, Joe aims to go against the grain of top 40 folk-pop and flip the genre on its head. His protest song “Deny, Defend, Depose,” written about the UnitedHealthcare shooting in December 2024, went viral quickly gaining the attention of fans and garnering comments like “You’re making Woody proud” and “The Pete Seeger this generation needs!!” Joe has been featured in The Independent, Democracy Now, Barrons, Canadian Affairs, MSN, and more. Signed to Interscope, he recently played a sold-out tour with Irish folk band, Amble, playing 11 dates across the country from the Troubadour, to the Lincoln Hall, to two nights at the Bowery, and more.
