Born in Araraquara, in the interior of São Paulo, singer and songwriter Liniker has been immersed in art from a young age. She grew up watching her mother and uncles in samba rock circles, an experience that planted a seed that would later blossom. Liniker studied at the Escola Livre de Teatro in Santo André, a place that helped unlock many layers of her artistic expression.
She rose to fame with the release of her EP Cru (2015) under the name Liniker e os Caramelows. Since then, Liniker has toured extensively across Brazil and the world, releasing the albums *Remonta* (2016) and *Goela Abaixo* (2019), which was nominated for a Latin Grammy in the “Best Rock or Alternative Album in Portuguese” category. Liniker also played the lead role of Cassandra in the Prime Video series Manhãs de Setembro (2021), a performance that earned her the “Game Changer” title in the actress category at the Geração Glamour Awards, as recognized by Glamour magazine. That same year, she released her first solo album, Indigo Borboleta Anil, featuring collaborations with artists such as Milton Nascimento, Tássia Reis, DJ Nyack, Tulipa Ruiz, Orquestra Jazz Sinfônica, Letieres Leite, and Orkestra Rumpilezz. The album received three Latin Grammy nominations in 2022, winning the award for “Best Brazilian Popular Music Album,” making Liniker the Brazilian artist with the most nominations that year and the first transgender artist
to win a Latin Grammy. She is also one of the few Brazilian artists to record performances at Colors Studios and NPR’s Tiny Desk.
During the tour for her debut solo album, Liniker performed at major national festivals, including a memorable performance at the Rock in Rio festival in September 2022 on the Sunset Stage, as well as participating in the first edition of Primavera Sound in São Paulo. In 2023, Liniker took her solo debut to Europe, performing in countries like Spain, Portugal, the UK, France, the Netherlands, and Germany, with standout shows at Glastonbury (UK), Roskilde (Denmark), and Jazz à Vienne (France), among others. That same year, she was honored as an Immortal by the Brazilian Academy of Culture (ABC), taking the prestigious seat of Elza Soares.
Her second solo album, CAJU, released in August 2024, has already become one of the defining achievements of her career, accumulating over 200 million streams across all platforms (with 6 million in just the first 24 hours!). The day after its release, Liniker entered the daily chart of most-streamed artists on Spotify Brazil (#33) and became the most-played pop artist on the platform that day, surpassing top names artists. CAJU features collaborations with artists such as Lulu Santos, BaianaSystem, ANAVITÓRIA, Pabllo Vittar, Priscila Senna, and others. The album was produced by Liniker, Fejuca, and Gustavo Ruiz, the same trio behind her debut solo album. The CAJU tour sold out multiple days in advance at 6,000+ capacity venues across Brazil and is already one of the most sought-after shows in the country.
And in June, Liniker will be touring 8 sold-out shows in European capitals.
