BIO:

Rubio is the artistic experiment of the renowned Chilean artist, drummer and producer Francisca Straube. A work that has its origin in the compilation of sound experimentations that since 2015 have been revealing her path.

Rubio’s first material was released in 2016; a homonymous EP of five tracks that later gave way to her first two full-length albums “Pez” (2018) and “Mango Negro” (2020), which were co-produced with Chilean Pablo Stipicic.

Her songs have been part of soundtracks such as Elite, Queen of the South, Madre Solo Hay Dos, Señorita 89, La Caída, among others.

International Sessions such as KEXP, Grammys Global Spin and festivals like; Primavera Sound, Ruido Fest, The Great Escape, Nrmal, Selvámonos, Ceremonia, Lollapalooza and more have welcomed the talent of the Chilean. This past October 19th saw the release of her new album “Venus & Blue” through FAMA Collective, also co- produced with Pablo Stipicic and marking Rubio’s third full-length album. It offers a captivating cinematic journey where each track weaves its own unique narrative.

Recently, Rubio was on the charts of publications such as Pitchfork and Rolling Stone for her new singles. She also made her debut on Grammy’s Global Spin where she performed her latest singles and this last fall she wowed crowds as the opening act on Ambar Lucid’s Estrella Part 2 tour.
